Students of classes 6 – 8 and 11th from Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow visited the Regional Science Center on 15th November, 2017.They attended a workshop on astronomy where they saw “Tara Mandal” having constellations and constituted a gadget “astrolape” which is used for measuring latitude. Another device that they made was based on reflection of light.
21 students of class 11 who visited the Regional Science Centre got an opportunity to explore and see the various wonders of science. They were the participants for hands on practice to isolate DNA. The students were shown a power point presentation on DNA Isolation. The students visited the Bio-technology gallery where they saw the models of bacteriophage viruses. They learnt to use various equipment s,like micro pipette , centrifuge and learnt its working.
Class 9th students visit was also an exciting one. They attended a workshop on ‘how to make a low cost LED bulb’. The students learnt about the use of micro transformers and semi-conductors. Very interactive sessions were held where the student queries were addressed to.
The visit to the Regional Science Centre was an enriching one.
