Padmashri Geeta Chandran dancer/ choreographer, a celebrated artist and a star-performer, gave her performance at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School on 30th November 2015, under the aegis of SPIC-MACAY.
Geeta Chandran ji a renowned artist who synthesized the knowledge she has received from her Gurus to imprint Bharatanatyam with her personal vision of the dance to the audience. In her dance performance, Geeta Chandran ji skilfully weaved abstract notions of joy, beauty, values, aspirations, myth and spirituality. A delightful rendition of her varied art forms of Bharatanatyam left the students mesmerized.
Geeta Chandran ji’s deep and composite understanding of the art was so well explained by her that the students were spell-bound. The intricacies of the dance form performed by her made the audience not only enjoy the accurate dance movements but also created in each heart the space for the classical form of dancing in their young minds.
In her message to the students Geeta Chandran ji emphasized upon the richness of our Indian culture, through any form of classical expression, which brings out the true unified colors of our country.She asked the students to link dance to their lives.Her dance performance of Yashodha and Lord Krishna’s game of hide and seek in Bhartanatyam style received a standing ovation from the enraptured audience.
