As the magnitude of the Pulwama attack became clear, condemnation and sympathy poured in from around the world. The terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy near Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir, on Thursday February 14th, has immersed the entire nation in shock and grief.
The Principal, staff and the students of Seth M.R. Jaipuria school joined the nation to pay homage to the 42 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in a cowardly attack by terrorists. The school held a condolence meeting on 16th February, 2019, for the brave martyrs who sacrificed their young lives to the Nation. We salute our courageous departed soldiers and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured ones. Our heart goes out to the families of the martyrs.
Shambhavi Pal, a student of class 8 dedicated a beautifully self-composed lines to the departed souls.
“The young dead soldiers do not speak.
Nevertheless, they are heard in our still houses:who has not heard them
They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts.
They say :We were young. We have died. Remember us………….
They say:we have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done.
They say:We have given our lives but until it is finished, no one can know what our lives gave.
They say: Our deaths are not ours:They are yours, They will mean what you make them.
They say: Whatever our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing, we cannot say; it is you who must say this,
WE LEAVE YOU OUR DEATHS. GIVE THEM THEIR MEANING. WE WERE YOUNG; THEY SAY…WE HAVE DIED;REMEMBER US.”
