Seth M.R Jaipuria launched its two day commerce event Dr Rajaram jaipuria ‘Bizathon’ on Monday August 5, 2019. Bizathon is an initiative by the Commerce department to bring enthusiastic intellects together and provide them with a platform that gives them an opportunity to implement their business ideas in the real world.
Professor Alok Ranjan (retd IAS officer) inaugurated the event as the chief guest alongside the school principal Mrs Promini Chopra and vice-principal Dr Anupam Vidyarthi by lighting the lamp followed by words of encouragement from the chief guest and the principal. Professor Ranjan talked about the significance of dreams, decision making, true leadership and the responsibility and accountability that comes with it. Prinicipal Promini ma’am also inspired the students with her encouraging words and talked about the importance of knowing where to take one’s dream and working towards self improvement.
The first day of the event witnessed participation of 225 students from 19 prominent schools from Lucknow and Kanpur, in the various competitions that are lined up for two days i.e. Aug 5-6, 2019 and judged by a panel of experts.
The competitions were focused on the different aspect of the commerce and economics industry. For example, ‘Marketing Mania’ contest had students selling their products in their own creative way while the event ‘Regard before you Disregard’ encouraged them to make master-pieces from waste. Students designed their own currency in ‘Design the Exchange’ competition and ‘Quiz D’ Affaires’ had students answering questions related to the field of commerce. An ‘Opec Meet’ was also held where students brainstormed on stabilizing the price of crude oil.
Day 1 was concluded by the final round of ‘Clash of tycoons’ where the students had an engaging debate on the topic of ‘The Principles of accounting to record Karma and its consequences.
The final day holds more exciting events that are lined up including a Rock Band performance by the host school band. Check this space for further updates.
