“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high. Where knowledge is free. Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls, into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.”A hundred and six years ago, when Nobel Laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore wrote this verse, he had spoken about a nation that was still struggling to find its place in the world.
On 15th August, 2019, we proud Indians at Seth M.R. Jaipuria celebrated the 73rd Independence Day under the limitless expanse of the sky, where it dawned on us that
India is a country diverse and vast,
Her rich heritage will forever last.
Ganges,Yamuna and the rivers that flow
High mountains covered with snow.
The tricolour fluttering so high
Shades of culture in the sky,
Colours of prosperity everywhere,
Patriotism is in the air.
Let our goal be peace for all,
Remember united we stand, divided we fall!
The martyrs, revolutionaries, nationalists, doers, achievers, believers, leaders and followers, their sacrifices can never be forgotten, which at the stroke of midnight when the countrymen slept, the country awoke to freedom. The Principal, Mrs. Promini Chopra along with the Vice Principal, Junior School Mrs. Asha Chaddha and the Vice Principal, Administration, Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi led the school to salute the National Flag which was followed by the exeburent Jaipurians March Past from the four Houses on the beats of the school band, playing “Sare Jahan se Acchha hindustan hamara………………..”
The Principal addressed the august gathering and expressed her faith in the Indian youth of today. Mrs. Chopra urged the students to work with dedication and patriotism for the progress of the country.
The cultural programme; a ‘Kavi sammelan’, where students recited self composed poems, coupled with rhythmic dance steps, and patriotic speeches, were highlighted appreciated by a large number of guests and parents.
