To show their love and affection towards the elder members of society, the Social Awareness Club visited the Sarvajanik Shikshonnayan Sansthan located at Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow on 11th May.
An old age home, the place provides residents with all facilities of food, shelter and clothing. All of this is looked after but the presence, care and much needed love of their closed ones is a gap their hearts seek to fill.
The students, in an attempt to share their love and warmth, gifted handmade cards consisting of beautiful poems and jokes to the residents, asking them about their day and their health. They also donated clothes, sanitizers, medicated soaps, biscuits, rusks, talcum powder, and bed sheets.
Patiently listening to them pour their hearts out and giving advice, the students then accompanied the elders to the activity hall where they presented a short dance performance for their entertainment. They spent the rest of the time joyfully dancing and creating heartwarming memories together.
The visit was a sentimental as well as a cheerful one. It ended on a happy note and many smiling faces. The students wish to visit them many more times and be a reason, no matter how small, for the joy in their lives.
